As director of photography for the launch of Wired magazine in Germany, I was responsible for producing all visuals in the magazine, both photographic and illustrative. Our team was small. Our team was German. Except for me, that is. In the photo department, I was basically a one-woman show for the first three issues, managing all production, art buying, rights, syndication negotiation, budgets and well, sabering the occasional bottle of champagne.
